Preparation of the lesson

Two topics can be worked on in preparation for the tour: Firstly, you can work on the concept of sustainability with your pupils. Secondly, you can talk to the class about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Follow-up of the lesson

During the tour, the pupils talked about several topics: they learned about the origin of cocoa, who grows it and how it is harvested and processed. They also learned that there are challenges to overcome, such as child labor, poverty and rainforest deforestation. They also discussed together what solutions are available to counteract these challenges. After the tour, the next step is to consolidate and reflect on what they have learned.
