Sustainability Week 2026 at the Chocolate Museum—a resounding success

The dates for 2027 have already been set

Sustainability Week 2026 at the Cologne Chocolate Museum was a huge success. All guided tours on the theme “Chocolate and Cocoa—Sustainable and Fair!” were fully booked. The high level of interest from school classes and teachers demonstrates how relevant education for sustainable development continues to be.

The Chocolate Museum will continue its commitment next year as well: Sustainability Week for schools will take place from June 21 to 25, 2027. Following that, the museum will host a family weekend on June 26 and 27. School classes can find out more now and mark the theme week on their calendars. Just like this year, there will be an attractive discount for school classes again in 2027!

Through a combination of guided tours and fair-trade chocolate tastings, the Chocolate Museum educates visitors about sustainable cocoa farming, fair supply chains, and mindful consumption—an offering that is likely to remain in high demand next year as well.

Cooperation with Plant-for-the-Planet

The Chocolate Museum has entered into a partnership with the children's and youth initiative "Plant-for-the-Planet". In Mexico, Plant-for-the-Planet plants a new tree every 15 seconds. However, the restoration of forests is a challenging task that requires a long-term and holistic approach. With the Restoration Research Park on the Yucatán Peninsula, Plant-for-the-Planet has established a center for applied forest restoration research. Among other things, it is investigating how damaged forests can be restored on a large scale and how lost species can be brought back, which methods are most effective in different ecosystems and how forests can withstand the challenges of the climate crisis.
