Contest Guidelines of Schokoladenmuseum Köln GmbH

Schokoladenmuseum GmbH, with its registered office at Am Schokoladenmuseum 1a, 50678 Cologne (hereinafter: Schokoladenmuseum), is the organizer and co-organizer of sweepstakes on the following platforms: www.schokoladenmuseum.de, www.erlebnis.koeln, Instagram (“@schokoladenmuseumoffical”; “@erlebniskoeln”; “@erlebnissommerkoeln”), and Facebook (“@Schokoladenmuseum Köln”; “@Erlebniskoeln”; “@Erlebnissommerkoeln”).

The following terms and conditions apply to participation in the Chocolate Museum’s sweepstakes.
These terms specify the rules governing the sweepstakes and the organizational procedures regarding the time period, prizes, and the selection and announcement of winners. Participation in the Chocolate Museum’s sweepstakes is free of charge and is not contingent upon the purchase of any goods or services from the Chocolate Museum.

By participating in the contest, participants accept the terms and conditions and the contest rules. The following applies to contests held on the Chocolate Museum’s own Facebook and Instagram pages: The contest is not affiliated with Meta, nor with the Facebook and Instagram platforms. It is not sponsored, endorsed, or organized by Meta.

Product Giveaway: Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash and are non-exchangeable. Winners will be notified at the time specified in the contest. Winners will be announced digitally. For all contest formats, winners will be selected at random by employees of the Chocolate Museum.

Method of Prize Delivery: Prizes will be sent digitally or by mail. In some cases, the prize must be picked up at the Chocolate Museum; this will be clearly and specifically communicated when the contest is announced.

All persons aged 14 and older who are residents of the Federal Republic of Germany are eligible to participate. Participation by children or adolescents is permitted only if their legal guardians consent to their participation in the contest prior to entry; if a prize is won, it will be awarded to the legal guardians.
Employees of the Chocolate Museum and their relatives are excluded from participation. Participants may enter a single contest only once. Registration on the social media platforms Instagram and Facebook, as well as visiting the website, is required for this purpose.

A violation of the terms and conditions of participation, including the rules for the relevant contest, entitles the Chocolate Museum to exclude the participant from the contest. This applies in particular to providing false information, manipulating the course of the contest, or attempting to influence the conditions for receiving a prize. If the excluded person is a winner, the prize may be revoked retroactively. The claim to the prize also expires if the prize cannot be delivered within six weeks of the first notification of the win; in this case, the prize is forfeited. Participants agree not to share any illegal content.

The Chocolate Museum reserves the right to terminate the contest early, in whole or in part, at any time—even without prior notice—or to modify its course, provided that it is not possible to ensure the proper conduct of the contest for technical or legal reasons. The Chocolate Museum collects, processes, and uses the personal data provided by participants upon entering the contest for the purpose of conducting the contest, in particular to notify winners of their prize. Personal data will be deleted immediately after successful transmission to the winners, provided that archiving is no longer necessary or required for documentation purposes. In specific cases, the data may also be used to provide information about the Chocolate Museum’s offerings. The sending of this information—for example, through a one-time newsletter or a newsletter subscription—is strictly voluntary and occurs only after valid confirmation by the contest participants. In this case, email addresses will be used exclusively for sending the Chocolate Museum’s newsletters and will not be shared with third parties.

If the prize is sent by mail, winners must provide the Chocolate Museum with their address upon request. In the event of a win, the data necessary to contact the winner—such as a phone number, email address, or mailing address—may be collected. The Chocolate Museum reserves the right to disclose the winner’s data to third parties if this is necessary for the delivery and redemption of the prize. Participants consent to the processing and temporary storage of their data until the prize has been successfully delivered.
