Experiencing sustainability through play: How the "world tour of cocoa" brings the SDGs to life

We all hear about them: the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the 17 goals for sustainable development that were adopted by the United Nations as part of the 2030 Agenda . But let's be honest: do we really know what they mean in concrete terms for our daily lives? And more importantly, how can we take action ourselves? The goal of "zero hunger" sounds clear, but what exactly can we personally do about it?

Sustainability is a huge topic and it often feels abstract. Many people understand that global problems such as hunger exist, but there is a lack of concrete recommendations for action. This is exactly where our new exhibition "World Cocoa Journey" comes in!

Your contribution counts: Concrete tips in the exhibition

An entire room in the "World Cocoa Journey" is dedicated to the 2030 Agenda and the 17 goals. For each individual goal, you are shown three specific ways in which you can personally contribute to achieving the goals.

For example? Let's take the goal "Zero hunger". We'll show you how a vegetarian diet can help, why it's important to only buy food that you really use and how you can donate surplus food instead of throwing it away. These are simple steps that can have a big impact!

I'm Astrid and I've been working in marketing at the Chocolate Museum for more than 10 years. It's one of the nicest places to work in Cologne and there are always great stories to tell about cocoa and chocolate. Where else can you get such a great view of the Rhine right from your desk?
