Our museum

A place steeped in history
Founded in 1993 by chocolate manufacturer Hans Imhoff, the museum is now a privately run institution owned by the Imhoff family – without any government subsidies. It combines tradition with innovation and attracts over 550,000 visitors from all over the world every year.

An architectural landmark
The striking ship-style building is part of Cologne's Rhine panorama and was the first project in what is now the Rheinauhafen district. A real highlight, both inside and out!
