The perfect day in Cologne
Have you already completed the photo tour? Or are you not the most enthusiastic photographer? Then here is a suggestion for a day in Cologne that is not just focused on taking good photos.
Cologne is a city with many facets. A very diverse city that is characterized by different images. There are many different districts, each with its own unique character and charm. These characteristics can of course be captured on camera. Whether you are just visiting Cologne or live here, Cologne has a lot to offer when it comes to potential photo spots in the city. For this reason, we present some interesting photo spots around the Chocolate Museum below. These are all within walking distance of the museum, making them good stops on a tour of Cologne with the grand finale of a delicious drinking chocolate in the Chocolat Grand Café in the Chocolate Museum.
Our tour starts at Heumarkt. This is the starting point for several train lines and is therefore easy to reach. Conveniently, this is also the first photo spot. The underground railroad station at Heumarkt is described by the Cologne transport company itself as an "architectural masterpiece" and has even managed to be immortalized as a Deutsche Post stamp. If that's not an argument for taking a look at this futuristic train station yourself, what is?
From Heumarkt, it's a direct route down to the Rhine. Once here, a little further up the river towards the cathedral is the old town. With its many restaurants and, above all, the old, colorful half-timbered houses, this is another great photo opportunity.
Not far from the old town are the cathedral and the Hohenzollern Bridge. It is well worth crossing the Rhine over this bridge and taking a look at the countless love locks. When you leave the bridge, the Rhine boulevard with its many steps is not only an ideal place for a short break, but also the perfect photo opportunity. From here, you can take perfect pictures of the cathedral, the Rhine and the Hohenzollern Bridge. Of course, the Chocolate Museum is also clearly visible and ready for photos.
Don't forget to tag the Chocolate Museum in your posts, because a repost in our story is not that unlikely. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to win our photo of the month competition. The prize is a chocolate package. So it's worth taking part!

On the other side of the Rhine, you can walk down the bank a little further, away from the cathedral. Then you'll reach the Deutz harbor or the Deutz bank of the Rhine. With its basketball courts, this is certainly an interesting urban photo motif. If you choose the right angle, you can even see the cathedral and the Chocolate Museum in the background.
If you move further away from the cathedral, you can take the light rail back to the original side of the Rhine via the Severinsbrücke bridge.
Once here, you can return to the banks of the Rhine, where the highlight of the photo tour awaits you: The Rheinauhafen with its crane houses.
The area around the harbor attracts visitors with its modern architecture and is an ideal opportunity to experiment with your camera and your subjects.
The walk along the crane houses, the harbor with its countless boats and the Olympic Sports Museum is also so beautiful because it points like an arrow to the Chocolate Museum. At the end of the corridor between the Crane Houses, the Chocolate Museum finally opens up. With its unique architecture, this is also a unique photo motif for you and the crowning glory of the best photo spots in Cologne.
Ideal, because after an exhausting but hopefully rewarding tour, you can take a look at your work over a drinking chocolate and a delicious piece of cake in the museum's Chocolat Grand Café. View the photos from the tour and enjoy an unbeatable view of the Rhine.
Whether in the café behind the large panoramic glass window or on the sun terrace directly on the Rhine, reward yourself for the photos and visit the Chocolat Grand Café of the Chocolate Museum.
