We use a flat mold (relief mold) with 10 different fillings on a single plate, which was used to make 10 small, flat chocolate reliefs at the same time. The mold shows a collection of motifs strongly suggestive of the Dutch or North German/North European Christmas tradition, such as the clogs (wooden shoes). This type of small motif was often used as decoration for Christmas presents, to decorate larger pieces of chocolate or as praline inserts. They were typical of efficient industrial production in the early 20th century (approx. 1900 to 1940), the heyday of metal molds.
