Against a picturesque backdrop directly on the Rhine, the Cologne Harbour Christmas Market at the Chocolate Museum will once again enliven the gateway to the Rheinauhafen and add a maritime facet to Christmas Cologne. The square in front of the Chocolate Museum has been a proven address among Cologne’s Christmas markets for over 20 years. The location near the Old Town and directly on the Rhine is one of the most beautiest in Cologne and be reached in a few minutes on foot via the Rhine promenade from the Old Town/Dom and the city center. The market place, together with the chocolate museum, the listed harbor swing bridge (Cologne’s oldest preserved bridge over the Rhine) and the Malakoffturm (the historic watchtower at the harbor entrance of Cologne and the modern art’otel, forms the entrance to a completely newly developed city district – the Rheinauhafen.
